🇦🇺 Attention Employers: New Changes to Casual Employment!🚨 From August 26, 2024, some significant updates to casual employment laws come into effect today. Here’s what you need to know:1. Redefinition of Casual Employment: The new criteria for determining casual employment include the practical realities of the work arrangement, not just the written contract.2. Casual Conversion: Employees can now request conversion to permanent status after 6 or 12 months (depending on business size). Employers must respond within 21 days and can refuse under specific conditions.3. Casual Employment Information Statement (CEIS): Updated requirements mean you must provide the CEIS at new intervals throughout the employment period.4. Anti-Avoidance Measures: It’s now illegal to make or persuade an employee to switch to casual employment for the same work or to misrepresent casual roles.🔍 Action Required: Review and update employment contracts, clarify casual loadings on payslips, and ensure compliance with new conversion requests.Stay ahead of the curve! Read more about these changes and how they impact your business 📈 👉 https://lnkd.in/gj6pMKTx#HR #EmploymentLaw #CasualEmployment #WorkplaceCompliance #FairWork #Australia
