The Lexington is a stylish and luxurious option in Manhattan’s skyscraper-heavy, business-centric Midtown East neighborhood. It was completely renovated in 2013, and the updated design emphasizes the hotel's Art Deco roots and evokes the playful and sumptuous vibe of the jazz age.
The expansive, two-story lobby impresses from the get-go, chic seating (a few chairs sport zebra print) and with purple, geometric rugs over marble tile floors. A carefully curated art collection with original works by Ruben Toledo is on display throughout the hotel, and bold Art-Deco-inspired murals can be found in the lobby, the hallways, and even the elevators. Subtle details reference the hotel's impressive history; in each room, for example, guests will find the story of how Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe lived in one of the penthouse suites during their marriage.
