There are many ways to cook a juicy chicken breast, but using the Ninja Foodi (or any air fryer) is among the best. Locking in the moisture on the inside with a delicious golden brown outer layer, you get a tender, juicy, and tasty piece of chicken perfect for dinner.

Chicken Breast in a Ninja Foodi Air Crisp Basket
- Preheat:Warm up the Ninja Foodi air fryer to 375°F.
- Season:Mix the suggested spices (or any you like) in a bowl. Brush each chicken breast with olive oil, then evenly coat with the seasoning mix.
- Cook:Arrange the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t touch. The chicken breasts need airflow. Air fry for 12–14 minutes, flipping halfway through. Remember, cooking times may vary based on the thickness of the chicken. The chicken should reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.
- Rest:Allow the chicken breasts to rest 2-3 minutes after cooking.
What Air Fryer do we recommend?
We use a Ninja Foodi All In One 6 quart, but typically, any air fryer will do. Times and temp may change according to the size of your chicken breast and the air fryer brand, so consult your appliance handbook when in doubt. Personally we use this air fryer because it does what it says- its all in one. It can sauté, pressure cook, air fry and I like the convenience of one appliance in the pantry.
Pro Tips:
- Even Cooking:To ensure even cooking, ensure your chicken breasts are of uniform thickness. We use a meat mallet.
- Don’t Overcrowd:Air circulation is critical to air frying. Cook in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the basket.
- Internal Temperature Check:Use a meat thermometer to ensure your chicken reaches the safe internal temperature of 165°F.
- Brine the Breast:You may have used brining for holiday meals, but did you know you can also brine chicken breasts? A little prep can go a long way for the best chicken!
Side Dish Suggestions:Chicken goes with nearly any side dish. We recommend pairing with a side of vegetables, mashed potatoes, and a Mrs. Schuster’s yeast roll. Perfectly cooked chicken is also great for slicing on pasta (like an alfredo) or adding to a salad to create a full meal.

How to use the Ninja Foodi to make a perfectly tender juicy chicken breast in the air fryer.
Equipment
air fryer We use a 6 quart Ninja Foodi All In One
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 6 ounces each
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Recommended Seasonings
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
Preheat your Air Fryer: Begin by preheating the Ninja Foodi Air Crisp Basket, or whichever brand air fryer you're using, at 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Allow it to warm up for 5 minutes.
Prepare the Seasoning Mix: In a small bowl, combine the oregano, paprika, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix these ingredients well to ensure an even blend of the spices.
Season the Chicken: Take each chicken breast and, using a pastry brush, lightly coat both sides with olive oil. Once oiled, generously sprinkle both sides of the chicken breasts with the prepared seasoning mix, ensuring an even coverage.
Air Fry the Chicken: Place the seasoned chicken breasts into the preheated air fryer basket. Set your air fryer to the 'Air Crisp' function and adjust the temperature to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook for 12-14 minutes. It's important to ensure that the chicken is thoroughly cooked through ( 165 degrees) before removing it from the air fryer.
Rest Before Serving: After cooking, remove the chicken from the air fryer (tongs work easily) and let it rest for 2-3 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, giving a really moist piece of chicken! We suggest serving with a roasted veggie side dish, mashed potatoes, and a yeast roll.
